Overview of the placement cell:

The Placement Committee of Allana Institute of Management Sciences, Pune comprises of the Director, Placement Officer, Placement Coordinator and the Student Coordinators. This committee is responsible for all training and placement related activities. In addition to the Final Placements the college also provides Summer Internship Projects to the students in order to provide practical knowledge and expose the students to real life setting environment.

At A.I.M.S emphasis is placed on the holistic development of the students in order to prepare them to handle the turbulent corporate scenario. The soft skills training provided to the students assist them in identifying and achieving their own personal potential. In the 1st Year emphasis is placed on language building and communication skills. In the 2nd Year students are equipped with Leadership Skills, People Management Skills, Personal Grooming, Presentation Skills, Team Building, Goal setting, Confidence Building, Conflict Management, Inter-personal Skills, Negotiation Skills and Decision Making. Pre placement training includes preparing students for Interviews, Group Discussions, imparting knowledge of Business Etiquettes and Work Ethics.

Placement Cell networks with the reputed organizations throughout the country for arranging campus interviews for the final year MBA & MCA students. Efforts are made to organize sessions on corporate expectation, culture and business practices. HR personnel and corporate personalities are invited regularly to enhance knowledge of the students regarding contemporary issues and latest industry practices.

We continuously seek opportunities for improvement, to meet and exceed the needs of our students through a process of self-evaluation and continuous improvement.

Objectives of the placement cell:

To enhance employability skills of the students.

To prepare students to meet corporate expectations.

To create and maintain database of corporate and alumni members.

To engage corporate and alumni members in order to strengthen industry - institute interface.

To provide placement assistance to the MBA & MCA students.

Placement Committee:

AIMS placement committee is highly motivated team comprising of Director, Placement Officer, Placement Coordinator & students who continuously strive for the stated placement objectives. In addition, the placement committee is committed to developing and maintaining strong industry institute bonding.

Composition:

Student’s representatives to the placement committee are appointed by the director and the placement officer of the college.

Roles & Responsibility of Student’s Representatives:

Coordinate with the Placement Officer in developing of resume and maintaining other placement related data of the students.

Coordinate with the team in identifying vacancies and job opportunities across country & abroad.

Coordinate with the team in organizing guest lectures, campus placements, seminars etc.

Coordinate with the alumni in identifying potential recruiters.

Placement Policy / Guidelines:

The purpose of the placement policy & guidelines is to define the overall placement procedure, rules, roles & responsibilities of the placement team. Guidelines will ensure the smooth functioning of the placement activities and maintain uniform standards and transparency in job assistance.

A.I.M.S is committed to provide placement assistance for all the deserving students. To ensure equality and fairness in placement assistance to all the students, guidelines have been framed. All students shall abide by these guidelines prescribed herein below. Any breach of rules will result in action against the defaulting student as the case may deem fit.

The institute authorities reserve the rights of modifying any or all of the above norms and/or stipulating additional norms for placement which, in its judgment and discretion, are likely to benefit the students, immediately or in the future. The Final decision in case of any dispute will rest with the Chair Person of the Placement Committee.

Please note that, Placement is a privilege extended to the students not a right.

The Placement Policy:

Placement assistance to all deserving students.

Maintaining uniform standards and transparency in placement assistance.

Ensuring that the entire placement team work for achieving the placement objectives.

Placement Eligibility:

Students who have sought admission to Allana Institute Of Management Sciences for MBA / MCA course.

MBA / MCA final year students who are passing out from the institute by the end of the respective academic year.

Students who have registered for the placement drives.

Students who meet the criteria of 75% attendance.

Placement Procedure:

Every student interested in placement assistance will register with the placement cell within the first month of seeking admission to the program for the current academic year.

Every student registering for placements will submit his / her CV in the format prescribed by the institute.

Every Student shall prepare the resume under the supervision of Placement cell highlighting achievements / qualifications / skills and knowledge beyond the curriculum which enhances the employability of the student.

Registered students will attend the Pre placement training time to time without fail as notified by placement cell. Attendance will be taken for every PPT activity and only those students who have attended all the PPT activities will be eligible for the placement drives.

Every recruiter firm has their own recruitment process & procedures. The sequence of campus recruitment program followed by most companies is as follows:

Pre Placement Talk

Written Test – Aptitude / Technical and HR

Group Discussion

Interview – Technical and HR

Students must clarify queries/doubts if any related to package, job profile, place of work; service bond details etc. with the HR officials of the Company during Pre-Placement Talks (PPT) only. T & P cell is not responsible for any conflicts occuring between companies and students in this regards.

A copy of offer letter & appointment letter must be submitted to the placement cell within 15 days of joining.

In case a student decides not to join, he / she should inform the company and the placement cell immediately in writing with reasons.

Each student is eligible for only one job offer.

Placement Rules & Regulations:

Students must inform the institute in writing about his interest in job / entrepreneurship / further studies.

It is the responsibility of the student to check announcements / notices / updated information/ shortlisted names etc. displayed on the notice boards of Placement Cell Notice Boards. Students are expected to be on time as per the notification for each PPT activity.

Students not meeting the eligibility criteria mandatorily asked by the company, would not be allowed to sit for the recruitment process.

Late coming for PPT & Placement Drives will not be tolerated.

Students are advised to be dressed in Formals for every Recruitment Drive and must carry a Folder comprising of :

Multiple copies of Resume

Passport size coloured Photographs

Photocopy of all the Certificates (10th, 12th, Graduation Mark sheets and certificates etc.)

College ID card

Govt. ID & Address Proof (via; Driving License, Passport, Pan Card, Aadhar Card, Voter ID etc.)

Students must bring their identity cards with them whenever they go through a placement process in campus or off campus.

If a student receives more than one job offer and accepts one, he / she is bound to treat this as final offer.

Direct Interaction with the Company is strictly not allowed.

Students with less than 75% of attendance will not be allowed to participate in the placement activities.

The details provided in the resume must be genuine any student found violating this will be debarred from the placement activities.

Male students should strictly ensure that they have proper haircut.

Students cannot drop out of the selection process once he / she is shortlisted.

Students not registering for Campus Recruitment will be assumed that they are not interested in Placement & will not be allowed to sit in any Campus Drives throughout the year. Only registered students are allowed to appear in campus recruitment process.

Discipline:

Students should maintain discipline and demonstrate ethical & decent behavior during the placement process. Any student found violating the rules is liable for strict disciplinary action and may be debarred from the placement process.

Students found misbehaving or cheating in the placement process (PPT / Mock Interviews / JD’s / Final Interviews) will be disqualified from placement drives.

No student will directly communicate with the company that has approached the institute for campus placements.

Students will be debarred from placements if he / she is found in any fraudulent practice’s.

* For all matters not covered by the above stated policy, Training & Placements Officer of the Institute will use its own discretion to take appropriate decisions.

Allana Institute of Management Sciences, Pune will help you to choose right career. We have printed material related to courses, qualification required to Management & IT courses, skills needed to pursue that career. In addition we also conduct personal counselling to help students identify their unique skills and choose a career according to his liking, interest, personality traits and skill sets.

The main career guidance and counseling goals are as follows:

Self – discovery : The basic aim is to help every student identify his self-unique skills, personality traits, interests, attitude & values.

Determining Personal Values : AIMS will help students determine his personal values in relation to the norms of the society which will help him plan his career and success in life.
